Ministry of Labour B.C.<\/h1>\n

British Columbia’s<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Ministry of Labour<\/span>\u00a0and its agencies are responsible<\/span>\u00a0for regulating the province\u2019s workplaces. This includes working with the following:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. British Columbia\u00a0<\/span>Labour Relations Board\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Workers\u2019 Advisers Office\u200b<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Workers<\/span>\u2019<\/span>\u00a0Compensation System<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Together, these agencies work with employers to protect workers and their rights. Through administration, legislation enforcement, a compliance system, and training and education, each entity aligns with the\u00a0<\/span>Ministry of Labour<\/span>\u00a0and the\u00a0<\/span>Government of\u00a0<\/span>British Columbia<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    The Ministry of Labour and Health and Safety Standards\u00a0<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    When it comes to\u00a0<\/span>health and safety,<\/span>\u00a0the Ministry sets and enforces employment standards that prevent work-related injuries, illnesses<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0and fatalities. This is established through legislation, including but not limited to the:\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    1. WorkSafe BC<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
    2. Occupational Health and Safety Regulation<\/span>\u00a0(OHSR)<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
    3. Workers\u2019 Compensation Act<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      In particular, the\u00a0<\/span>Ministry of Labour<\/span>\u00a0is responsible for reviewing the\u00a0<\/span>Occupational Health and Safety<\/span>\u00a0system to ensure that all workplaces are healthy and safe.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
